Mary Ellen Hunter

Mary Ellen is a textile designer living in Park City, where she moved with her family in 2006. Mary Ellen grew up in Vermont and is very proud of being a least a fifth-generation Vermonter. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Textile Design with a concentration in weaving. Even though her career path took her to banking, she has always loved working with color and threads.

While Mary Ellen and Jim’s two sons were growing up, she spent her time volunteering in their schools. She taught in a program called Environmental Learning for the Future, and nature and basket weaving in a program called Project Inside Out.

Since moving to Utah, Mary Ellen has been volunteering with Canines With A Cause, which rescues shelter dogs and pairs them with veterans with PTSD as companions or service dogs.

As much as Mary Ellen’s volunteer work is important to her, be assured that there are always several projects happening in her workroom!
