Artique owner Katie is from Wisconsin and received her BFA in ceramics from UW-Eau Claire in 2000. She has been working in clay since she discovered her passion for ceramics in middle school. She went on to try ceramics in high school, and chose it as her emphasis in college in 1996, exploring wheel throwing and hand building clay sculpture using low electric firing, gas high firing reduction and wood firing processes.
Katie moved to Utah in 2001and has worked in the Kimball Art Center ceramics studio since then. Hand-building is her primary focus, but she also enjoys throwing ceramics on the wheel. Her organic style is one of a kind and has become a favorite of many.
